Worship

Worship is at the heart of who we are and what we do at East Falls Presbyterian church.

We gather in the sanctuary each Sunday at 10:30 to hear the sacred story and to connect with God and one another through music, prayer, and fellowship. Our worship prepares us to begin a new week in peace - renewed, challenged, and strengthened for a life as disciples of Jesus Christ.

What is worship like at EFPC?

Our worship style leans traditional, including some unison liturgy (printed in the bulletin so you can follow along), hymns, and choral music. That said, we’re not stuffy about it. Some people come in their Sunday best, others come in jeans and casual attire. Kids are welcome with all their wiggles. We’ll just be glad you’re here!

What about my kids?

We offer nursery care for our youngest friends (up to age 3ish) and Sunday School for roughly ages 4-12. Sunday School children start in the sanctuary worshiping with their families; following the children’s sermon, they move to their classrooms where they continue to worship and learn in a way that is geared toward them. Children are also welcome to remain in the sanctuary with parents for the duration of worship. We have children’s bulletins and crayons, and we welcome children in worship with all their rustling, squirms, and their gifts.

When does EFPC celebrate
Communion or the Lord’s Supper?

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month and other special occasions (e.g. Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve). Everyone who seeks the presence of Christ is welcome at Christ’s table. If you want to participate, you are welcome at the Table! We typically celebrate by intinction - meaning people come forward and take a piece of bread (or gluten-free cracker) and dip it in the cup (we use non-alcoholic grape juice). Servers also bring the elements those who need to be served in their pew. Sunday School teachers bring children back into the sanctuary so they can share in communion with the congregation.

Is your building accessible?

There is a ramp to access the building, which allows access to the sanctuary. There are three steps (with a chair lift) up to the hall where the bathroom, nursery, and parlor are located. There is also a chair lift to access the basement/fellowship hall.

Can I worship with you online?

Yes! In order to honor the privacy of friends who worship with us in person and sometimes share personal information, we don’t stream our worship publicly, but will be happy to share the weekly worship link with you so that you can worship with us. Please sign up to receive that link at the top of the page.
